この彫刻は、「renmen ensemble/連綿 アンサンブル」と同じく、ブランデンブルグ州で開催された野外彫刻展「ランドアート・シュロスパーク・ヴァーゲニッツ」に出品した作品です。このプロジェクトは、ブランデンブルク州ハーフェルランど郡およびベルリンのSemjon Contemporaryと協力して約3年間にわたり実現されました。Cosmosの背景に咲き広がるピンクの花は群生する野生蘭は、4月にこの彫刻を展示した時には、全く姿を見せていませんでした。夏の終わりになり、緑の茎から一気に咲き誇りました。もし、Cosmosの位置が１mずれていたらこのようなショットではなかったでしょう。周囲の緑と蘭のピンクの花びら。そして白と黒の無彩色で形成されたCosmos。色彩のコントラスト、無機質と有機質なものとの調和、そして、その場面の発生に至るまでの時間や形成された展示空間の偶然に何とも言えない不思議さを覚えました。
Like “renmen ensemble,” this sculpture was exhibited at the outdoor sculpture exhibition “Landart Schlosspark Wagenitz” held in Brandenburg, Germany. This project was realized over a period of approximately three years in collaboration with the Havelland district in Brandenburg and Semjon Contemporary in Berlin. The pink flowers blooming extensively in the background of Cosmos are a colony of wild orchids. When I first installed the sculpture in April, they were nowhere to be seen. As summer drew to a close, they suddenly burst into full bloom from their green stems. Had the placement of Cosmos been shifted by even a single meter, a shot like this would never have been possible. The surrounding greenery and the pink petals of the orchids stand in striking contrast to Cosmos, which is composed of achromatic black and white. I felt an inexpressible sense of wonder at this color contrast, the harmony between the inorganic and the organic, the passage of time leading up to the emergence of this scene, and the sheer serendipity of the exhibition space that was created.
